A load binder is a type of chain tensioner used to tension chain lashings. The length of the chain is roughly adjusted so that the end links can be hooked on to the two hooks on the load binder. The chain is then tensioned by operating the ratchet lever. To meet the requirements of SS-EN 12195-3 a load binder with safety pin should be chosen.
